NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior captain
Allison Kownacki (Orange, Conn.) finished with six points on five goals and one assist, but the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team was defeated by Bentley College on Wednesday night, 20-11.

The Owls are now 2-10, 2-5 in Northeast-10 Conference play. Bentley is 5-6, 4-3 in league play.
The contest was a back and forth affair early on. The teams traded the first four goals, with Kownacki netting both for the Owls.
Bentley scored the next three goals before Kelly Anne McCafferty (Durham, N.H.) found the back of the net for the Owls.
The Falcons rolled off three in a row once again to go in front by an 8-3 score. Kownacki ended the run with her third of the night to make it 8-4.
Bentley closed the half by scoring five of the final six goals, with the Owls' marker coming from freshman
Jessica Kraszewski (West Haven, Conn.). The Falcons led by a 14-5 margin at halftime.
Both teams scored six goals in the second half. Freshman
Rachel Carlucci (Franklin, Mass.) scored the first SCSU goal of the second half before Bentley rolled off three straight.
The Owls countered with three goals of their own, with one each coming from
Grace Martha (Cheshire, Conn.), Kownacki and
Teresa Monfredo (Shirley, N.Y.).
Bentley closed the game by scoring three of the final four goals, as the SCSU tally came courtesy of Monfredo.
SCSU returns to action on Saturday for a road game at No. 2 nationally ranked Stonehill.
