Grace Martha (Cheshire, Conn.) scored two goals and freshman
Rachel Carlucci (Franklin, Mass.) and senior
Allison Kownacki (Orange, Conn.) each added another, but the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team lost to No. 3 nationally ranked Adelphi on Tuesday evening from Jess Dow Field in New Haven by a score of 21-4.
Adelphi improved to 7-0 win the win, while the Owls moved to 2-7.
Adelphi leapt out to a 17-2 halftime lead, powered by Kaitlyn Carter, who notched all of her game-best four goals in the opening stanza. Carter added two assists to finish with a game-high six points. Rachel Ray added two goals and two assists for the Pioneers.
In addition to her two goals, Martha scooped up a game-high seven groundballs for the Owls.
The Southern Connecticut women's lacrosse team is back in action on Thursday, April 10 as they host Merrimack in a Northeast-10 Conference clash. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. from Jess Dow Field in New Haven, Conn.
