SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Five different players scored a goal and goalie Lauren Zarrella (Morris, Conn.) tossed a shutout to lead the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team to a 5-0 win over American International College on Wednesday night.

The Owls moved to 5-5, 5-3 in Northeast-10 play with the win. AIC is 1-8, 1-7.

Brittany Barra (Goshen, Conn.), Whitney Martin (Harwinton, Conn.), Tricia Mehm (Lindenhurst, N.Y.), Ryan Morgan (Stafford Springs, Conn.) and Sara Winterbottom (Burlington, Conn.) each scored a goal for the Owls.

SCSU is back in action on Saturday at 1 p.m. when it hosts Merrimack.
