Lauren Zarrella (Morris, Conn.) turned away 10 shots, but the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team lost to No. 5 nationally ranked Bentley on Thursday evening, 2-0.
The Owls are now 1-5, 1-2 in Northeast-10 play. Bentley moved to 3-2, 1-0.
Bentley opened the scoring with a marker from Courtney Bartlett just 8:31 into the contest.
The Falcons tacked on another goal just 9:12 into the second half when Bartlett registered her second marker of the night.
Bentley held a 12-10 advantage in penalty corners in the contest, as well as a 19-5 advantage in the shot department.
The Owls return to action on Saturday at 1 p.m. when they host Merrimack.
