KellyAnne McCafferty (Durham, N.H.) each registered a goal to pace the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team to a 2-0 win Adelphi over Adelphi on Wednesday afternoon.
The Owls are now 3-9 on the season. Adelphi dropped to 7-4 overall.
Southern Connecticut's only shot in the first half proved to be an important one. The Owls had a flurry of action inside the Adelphi circle, and a loose ball ended up right on the stick of Charlot. She blasted one home from the top of the circle for a 1-0 cushion with 14:43 left in the frame.
The Owls tacked on an insurance goal with 9:39 remaining in regulation. Ann Berry (Belfast, Maine) started a 2-on-1 rush with McCafferty. Berry carried the ball into the circle before passing to McCafferty, who redirected the feed into the cage.

Lauren Zarrella (Morris, Conn.) finished with six saves in the game.
Southern Connecticut returns to action on Saturday at 1 p.m. when they host No. 4 nationally ranked UMass-Lowell. It will be the Owls annual Play 4 The Cure game. Following the contest, fans will be treated to a cookout courtesy of Five Guys Burgers and Fries.
