BOCA RATON, Fla. - For the second consecutive game, the Southern Connecticut State University baseball team scored 19 runs as they demolished Bloomfield by the score of 19-1. Offensively, the Owls connected on 22 hits and were led by
Bryan Dorsey's (Cheshire, Conn.) 3-for-5 performance which included four RBI, two doubles and four runs scored. With the win the Owls are now 6-2-1 overall.
Steve Simon (Middlefield, Conn.) recorded the win as he went seven innings, allowing one earned run on three hits and struck out five.
Ryan Geffert (Plymouth, Pa.) recorded a two-run homer and scored three times.
Eric Schlitter (Guilford, Conn.) went 4-for-7 from the plate, knocking in four runs and scoring twice.
Jordan Hockenberry (Glastonbury, Conn.) recorded three hits, a run and a stolen base and
Nick DeProspo (Worcester, Mass.),
Michael Cleary (West Boylston, Mass.) and
Greg Malen (Stamford, Conn.) registered two hits each.
The Owls return to action tomorrow for a doubleheader versus Dowling and Saint Thomas Aquinas beginning at 9 a.m.
