GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - The Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team lost to No. 1 nationally ranked Adelphi on Tuesday night by a final score of 24-2. The Owls received goals from seniors
Lauren Karn (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and
Teresa Monfredo (Shirley, N.Y.).
Adelphi led 22-0 at halftime and scored the first goal of the second half.
The Owls broke through with back-to-back goals from Monfredo and Karn before Adelphi tacked on a late tally.
Southern Connecticut returns to action on Thursday against No. 10 New Haven.
