NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior goalie Lauren Zarrella (Morris, Conn.) stopped 11 shots, but the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team was edged by Franklin Pierce on Tuesday evening, 1-0.

The only goal of the game came with 13:47 remaining when Tia Levins' shot bounced off Zarrella's pads and into the cage.

Franklin Pierce held a 27-6 advantage in shots on goal in the game. The Ravens also had a 15-5 edge in penalty corners.

The Owls are back in action on Thursday for a game at C.W. Post.
