Field Hockey Defeated By AIC

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Juniors Erica Fisher (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) and Paige Donlin (South Glastonbury, Conn.) each tallied a goal, but the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team lost an 8-2 decision to American International on Wednesday evening. The game was tied at 2-2 at halftime before AIC scored six second half goals.

Southern Connecticut is now 2-4 overall on the season. AIC is now 3-2.

Goalie Robin Donaldson (Canton, Conn.) made a career-high 16 saves in net for the Owls. Nicole Scionti (Deep River, Conn.) added seven saves in a relief role.

AIC opened the scoring just over six minutes in before Donlin connected for her first of the year nine minutes later. The Yellow Jackets quickly restored their lead before Fisher found the back of the net to even the score.

AIC scored two goals in the first five minutes of the second half and went on to the win.

The Owls are back in action on Saturday at St. Anselm.
