Nicole Scionti (Deep River, Conn.) made a career-high 15 saves, but the Southen Connecticut State University field hockey team lost a 5-0 decision at No. 7 nationally ranked Merrimack on Thursday.
The Owls moved to 2-6 on the year with the loss.
Merrimack took the lead just 3:12 into the game and went on to score four times before the break. The Warriors added one second half goal to make it a 5-0 final.
The Owls are back in action on Saturday when they host Franklin Pierce at 2 p.m.
