TWO HOME GAMES AWAIT
The first of two games this week for the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team takes place on Tuesday when the Owls face Adelphi University for the first time this season. Game time is set for 7 p.m. SCSU closes the week on Saturday at 1 p.m. with a home game against St. Michael's.
PLAY FOR THE CURE
Saturday's game will be the fifth annual Play for the Cure event. Not only will the Owls be sporting pink uniforms, but American Cancer Society representives can be found on-site. October 1 marks the beginning of National Breast Cancer Awareness month.
A NEW OWL ON TOP
Thanks to a two-goal effort on Saturday,
Sarah Cebry achieved the No. 1 spot on the Owls' all-time chart with 37 career goals. She edged out Cathy Cardini, who had 36 goals as an Owl. Cebry is also fourth in career scoring now with 80 points.
CEBRY LEADING THE CONFERENCE
Sarah Cebry's recent performances have launched her to the lead in the Northeast-10. With 17 goals and 36 points on the year, Cebry is No. 1 in both departments.
LAST TIME OUT
In a 6-4 loss to No. 5 nationally ranked UMass-Lowell,
Sarah Cebry achieved the No. 1 ranking on the all-time goals list for Southern Connecticut State University. Her 37th career tally boosted her past Cathy Cardini.
Randi Schock and
Bailey McGinnis also added goals in Saturday's game.

The Owls hold a 3-2 all-time lead in the series with the Panthers.

Sarah Cebry was selected as the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week for her efforts in the Sept. 22 win. Cebry now also leads the NE-10 Conference in both goals and points.
DOLLOFF NAMED TO NE-10 WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Freshman
Audrey Dolloff netted her first collegiate shutout on Sept. 22 with eight saves against Franklin Pierce. For her efforts in Saturday's game against UMass-Lowell, she was named to the NE-10 weekly honor roll.

For the second time in 14 days,
Sarah Cebry recorded five goals in a game, matching her own program single-game record against Franklin Pierce on Sept. 22.
A LOOK BACK AT THE LAST ADELPHI MEETING
In last season's meeting with Adelphi,
Erica Fisher recorded two goals, including the game-winner in overtime on Oct. 4, 2011.

The Owls faced St. Michael's earlier in the season in a 5-1 win on Sept. 8.

STOPPING ST. MICHAEL'S
Junior
Robin Donaldson recorded her first win of the year in the Owls' first encounter with St. Michael's earlier this season. She is 1-1 with a 1.59 goals against average and a .812 save percentage so far in 2012.
SUCCESSFUL ON PENALTY STROKES
As a team, the Owls have been awarded four penalty strokes this year and have converted all four.

Sarah Cebry also tallying a pair.
LENDING A HELPING HAND
Freshman
Bailey McGinnis had another assist in the Sept. 22 game against Franklin Pierce to extend her team-lead in that department with five helpers. She's also second on the team with 11 points.
WIN NO. 1 IN THE BOOKS
Freshman goalkeeper Audrey Doloff recorded 11 saves to earn her first collegiate victory in the game against Assumption on Sept. 4. Classmate
Marisa McCann notcher her first collegiate win on Sept. 12 in the 3-2 win over AIC. She finished with 11 saves in the contest.

ANOTHER SEASON IN THE BOOKS
The Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team closed the 2011 season with a 5-13 record. The Owls just missed out on qualifying for the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament.
DUO NAMED TO NE-10 ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
Juniors
Laurie Cockerline and
Paige Donlin were named to the Northeast-10 Conference Field Hockey All-Academic Team following the conclusion of the season. Student-athletes must have at least a 3.3 cumulative grade point average, have completed at least one year at their institution and be a starter or key reserve.
OWLS EXCEL IN THE CLASSROOM
Ten members of the squad were named to the Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for their work in the classroom in 2011-12. Student-athletes must post a 3.0 semester grade point average in order to be eligible for the honor.
SEVEN OWLS HONORED BY NFHCA

Katy Williams - were named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad. The National Academic Squad program recognizes those collegiate student-athletes who achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 through the first semester of the 2011-12 academic year.
