TOURNAMENT TIME
Northeast-10 Conference Tournament action opens on Wednesday for the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team as the Owls travel to Adelphi for a first-round game. The winner moves on to the semifinals on Saturday to face top-seeded Merrimack. Game time for Wednesday's contest is set for 4 p.m.
IN THE NE-10 TOURNAMENT
This marks the seventh appearance in program history for the Owls in the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament. They hold a 3-6 all-time mark entering this year's event. Southern's last appearance was in 2010, also against Adelphi. The Panthers claimed a 2-1 win over the Owls at Jess Dow Field in that contest. Southern Connecticut previously qualified for the tournament in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2009 and 2010. The Owls' last NE-10 Tournament win came in 2008 over Franklin Pierce.
ALL-TIME AGAINST ADELPHI
The all-time series between SCSU and Adelphi is tied at 3-3. The Panthers evened it up with a 3-2 win over the Owls back on Oct. 2.
THE LAST MEETING WITH ADELPHI

Lauren Anderson each scored a goal, but the Owls were tipped by Adelphi, 3-2, on Oct. 2 in a Northeast-10 Conference contest. The game was tied at 1-1 late in the first half, but the Panthers scored the next two goals before a late marker from Cebry.
OWLS IN THE NCAA STATS
The Owls continue to have a presence among the NCAA Division II statistical leaders.
Sarah Cebry continues to lead the nation in goals per game (1.29) and is second in total goals (22) and points/game (2.94). She is also No. 3 in total points (50).
Audrey Dolloff is No. 2 in saves per game (9.53), No. 10 in save percentage (.769) and No. 17 in goals against average.
Bailey McGinnis is now No. 17 in assists per game (0.41).
THREE IS THE MAGIC NUMBER
The equation has been pretty straight forward for the Owls this season. They are 8-1 when scoring three or more goals and 0-8 when scoring two or fewer. The lone loss when scoring at least three goals came in a 6-4 defeat to UMass-Lowell on Sept. 29. Southern Connecticut is averaging 4.3 goals a game in its victories and 1.3 goals per game in its defeats.

MCGINNIS ASSEMBLING A FINE ROOKIE SEASON
Freshman
Bailey McGinnis has made an immediate impact in her rookie season with the Owls. She's second on the club with 23 points (eight goals, seven assists). McGinnis also leads the team in assists and is second in goals.
SO MUCH FOR THE PRESEASON POLLS
The Owls were selected 10th in the Northeast-10 Conference preseason poll, as voted on by the league's coaches. However, SCSU finished fifth in the regular season standings.
VILARDI HAS A CAREER NIGHT
Junior
Allison Vilardi tallied her first career hat trick, including the game-winning tally, in the 4-2 victory at St. Anselm on Oct. 13.
OWLS DOWN NATIONALLY RANKED STONEHILL
The fifth time proved to be the charm for the Owls, who knocked off their first ranked opponent of the year in a 4-2 triumph at No. 10 Stonehill on Oct. 10. SCSU had dropped its first four games of the season to nationally ranked foes.
PLAY FOR THE CURE
On Oct. 6, the Owls hosted the fifth annual Play for the Cure game. The field hockey team sported pink uniforms and American Cancer Society representatives attended as well.
CEBRY STANDS ALONE
Sarah Cebry continues to create some distance atop the Owls' all-time chart. She now has 42 career goals after a two-goal effort against Assumption last week Earlier this season, she moved into the top spot on Sept. 29 to leap ahead of Cathy Cardini, who had 36 goals as an Owl.

CEBRY SCORES PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS
Sarah Cebry's efforts in the Sept. 22 win resulted in a selection as the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week. In addition, she was also named the league's Player of the Week on Oct. 16.
MCGINNIS NAMED NE-10 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Bailey McGinnis was tabbed as the Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week for her play in the Owls' wins over Stonehill and Saint Anselm.
DOLLOFF NAMED TO NE-10 WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Audrey Dolloff netted her first collegiate shutout on Sept. 22 with eight saves against Franklin Pierce. For her efforts in the Sept. 29 game, she was named to the NE-10 weekly honor roll.
A DAY FOR THE RECORD BOOKS

Sarah Cebry set a Southern Connecticut single-game record with five goals in a 5-1 win over St. Michael's on Sept. 8.
CEBRY SETTING THE PACE
For a second time in 14 days,
Sarah Cebry recorded five goals in a game, matching her own program single-game record against Franklin Pierce on Sept. 22.
HOME AT LAST
The Owls made the most of their first home game of the year after five on the road to open the season. Freshman
Bailey McGinnis scored early in the second half with the eventual game-winner in a 3-2 triumph over AIC on Sept. 12.
SUCCESSFUL ON PENALTY STROKES
As a team, the Owls have been awarded four penalty strokes this year and have converted all four.

DONALDSON RESPONDING IN THE CAGE

Robin Donaldson recorded her first win of the year against St. Michael's. She is 1-1 with a 1.59 goals against average and a 812 save percentage so far in 2012.
WIN NO. 1 IN THE BOOKS
Freshman goalkeeper Audrey Doloff recorded 11 saves to earn her first collegiate victory in the game against Assumption. Classmate
Marisa McCann notcher her first collegiate win on Sept. 12 in the 3-2 win over AIC. She finished with 11 saves in the contest.

ANOTHER SEASON IN THE BOOKS
The Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team closed the 2011 season with a 5-13 record. The Owls just missed out on qualifying for the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament.
DUO NAMED TO NE-10 ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
Juniors
Laurie Cockerline and
Paige Donlin were named to the Northeast-10 Conference Field Hockey All-Academic Team following the conclusion of the season. Student-athletes must have at least a 3.3 cumulative grade point average, have completed at least one year at their institution and be a starter or key reserve.
OWLS EXCEL IN THE CLASSROOM
Ten members of the squad were named to the Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for their work in the classroom in 2011-12. Student-athletes must post a 3.0 semester grade point average in order to be eligible for the honor.

Katy Williams - were named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad. The National Academic Squad program recognizes those collegiate student-athletes who achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 through the first semester of the 2011-12 academic year.
TEAM HONORED BY NFHCA
For the fourth year in a row, the Owls were recognized with National Academic Team honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. The National Academic Team Award recognized those institutions that achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2011-12 academic year.
FISHER PACES THE OFFENSE
Senior
Erica Fisher led the Owls last season in scoring with 27 points (12 goals, three assists). Those totals were career-highs for Fisher.

A win over Adelphi will send the Owls to the Northeast-10 Tournament semifinals to face top-seeded Merrimack on Oct. 27 in North Andover, Mass.
