Women's Lacrosse Prepares For Two League Games This Week

TWO CONFERENCE GAMES AHEAD
The Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team will play two games this week. The Owls will take on AIC on Wednesday afternoon at SCSU. Game time is set for 4 p.m. at Jess Dow Field. The Owls will then travel to take on No. 9  nationally ranked Stonehill on Saturday at 1 p.m.

MARTINEZ SETS NEW CAREER HIGH
Lynette Martinez set a new career-high with 24 saves against SNHU. She tallied a total of 39 saves in the two games against Post and SNHU last week.

SHAW AND HEIPLE FINDING PRODUCTION
Captain Elaina Heiple and junior Jessica Shaw both contributed nine points in two games last week. Heiple led the Owls with five points (four goals, one assist) against SNHU, while Shaw scored two goals and set up two goals. Heiple added three goals and one assist against Post, while Shaw had four goals and one assist, both contributing to the Owls' first win of the season.

SEDLER MAKING AN IMPACT
Freshman Erica Sedler tallied eight goals in two games last week. She found the back of the net four times in games against both Post and SNHU.

ALL-TIME AGAINST AIC
AIC leads the all-time series against SCSU by a 7-3 margin.

ALL-TIME AGAINST STONEHILL
Stonehill leads the all-time series agaisnt SCSU by a 10-0 margin.

IN THE NORTHEAST-10 PRESEASON POLL
The Owls were selected 13th in the Northeast-10 preseason poll for the 2012 season.

THE CAPTAINS
Elaina Heiple, Jennifer Langlois and Jessica Shaw have been selected as team captains for the 2012 season.

WELCOME TO THE CLUB
The Owls welcome seven new players to the team this year- Sarah Cebry, Emily Tooker, Felicia Zalik, Sarah Muise, Emily Orser, Erica Sedler and Toni Bocchetta.

ON DECK
The Owls will return to action on Monday, March 26  against New Haven. Game time is set for 4 p.m. at Jess Dow Field.
