HOME SWEET HOME
After playing five games away from home to open the 2012 season, the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team will play its first two home contests this week. The Owls entertain American International on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. and Saint Anselm on Friday night at 6 p.m.
A DAY FOR THE RECORD BOOKS
Junior
Sarah Cebry set a new Southern Connecticut single-game record with five goals in the 5-1 win over St. Michael's on Saturday. With the quintet of tallies, Cebry has now moved into sixth place on the Owls' all-time scoring chart with 28 career goals. Carly Sharp is next on the list with 29 goals.
A LOOK BACK AT LAST TIME OUT

Sarah Cebry tallied a career-high five goals to provide the offense for the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team in a 5-1 victory over St. Michael's on Saturday morning. The Owls improved to 2-3 on the year with the win. St. Michael's dropped to 0-4. It was the second hat trick of Cebry's collegiate career. She posted a three-goal effort against Mansfield back in 2010.

SCSU is averaging 3.3 goals per game over the last four contests after being blanked in the 2012 season opener.

AIC scored three goals in the final 15 minutes to snap a 2-2 tie and capture a 5-2 win over Southern Connecticut State University on Oct. 20, 2011 at Jess Dow Field. It was Senior Night for the Owls.

After trading goals in the first half, SCSU fell to St. Anselm College, 4-1, on Oct. 15, 2011 at Jess Dow Field in the club's annual Play 4 The Cure game.
Randi Schock scored the lone goal for Southern, as she converted a penalty stroke to even the score at one goal apiece.

Freshman
Bailey McGinnis had two assists in the game with St. Michael's to boost her team-leading total to four in that department. She's also second on the team with six points.
DONALDSON RESPONDING IN THE CAGE
Junior
Robin Donaldson recorded her first win of the year last time out against St. Michael's. She is 1-0 with a 0.80 goals against average and a .909 save percentage so far in 2012.
WIN NO. 1 IN THE BOOKS
Freshman goalkeeper Audrey Doloff recorded 11 saves to earn her first collegiate victory in the game against Assumption.

ANOTHER SEASON IN THE BOOKS
The Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team closed the 2011 season with a 5-13 record. The Owls just missed out on qualifying for the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament.
DUO NAMED TO NE-10 ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
Juniors
Laurie Cockerline and
Paige Donlin were named to the Northeast-10 Conference Field Hockey All-Academic Team following the conclusion of the season. Student-athletes must have at least a 3.3 cumulative grade point average, have completed at least one year at their institution and be a starter or key reserve.
OWLS EXCEL IN THE CLASSROOM
Ten members of the squad were named to the Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for their work in the classroom in 2011-12. Student-athletes must post a 3.0 semester grade point average in order to be eligible for the honor.

Katy Williams - were named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad. The National Academic Squad program recognizes those collegiate student-athletes who achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 through the first semester of the 2011-12 academic year.
TEAM HONORED BY NFHCA
For the fourth year in a row, the Owls were recognized with National Academic Team honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. The National Academic Team Award recognized those institutions that achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2011-12 academic year.
FISHER PACES THE OFFENSE
Senior
Erica Fisher led the Owls last season in scoring with 27 points (12 goals, three assists). Those totals were career-highs for Fisher.
ON DECK
The Owls return to action on Sept. 20 when they will host Merrimack.
