NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. - Freshman Jamie Matson (East Hartland, Conn.) extended her point scoring streak to five straight games and scored a goal for the fourth time in five games on Friday night in the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team's 4-1 loss to No. 9 nationally ranked Merrimack.
The Owls are now 2-9 overall and 2-3 in Northeast-10 Conference play. Merrimack is 8-4, 4-1 in league play.
Candace Waldie scored a pair of goals for the Warriors roughly three minutes apart to stake the hosts to a 2-0 lead. The score stayed that way until the second half, when goals from Maura Doyle and Waldie pushed the lead to 4-0.
Southern Connecticut answered on a goal from Matson that was assisted by
Sarah Cebry (Burlington, Conn.).

Audrey Dolloff (Raynham, Mass.) finished with 14 saves in the contest.
