Sarah Muise (Killingworth, Conn.) registered four goals, but the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team dropped a 17-7 decision to St. Michael's on Saturday afternoon.
The Owls are now 0-4 overall and 0-3 in Northeast-10 play. St. Michael's is 3-3, 1-3 in league action.
The Purple Knights scored the first eight goals of the game before Muise and
Emily Orser (Hamden, Conn.) connected for the Owls. However, St. Michael's netted the final two goals of the half to build a 10-2 lead at the break.
St. Michael's scored the first goal of the second half before the Owls tallied four straight goals to get within 11-6. Muise scored the first three goals during the run, followed by a tally from Orser.
However, the hosts scored six of the final seven goals of the game, with the Owls' goal coming from
Jessica Shaw (Beverly, Mass.).
The Owls are back in action on Tuesday for a road game at New Haven.
