Sarah Muise (Killingworth, Conn.) netted a pair of goals, but the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team lost a 20-2 decision to No. 14 nationally ranked New Haven on Tuesday afternoon.
The Owls are now 0-5 overall and 0-4in Northeast-10 play. New Haven is 3-4, 1-1 in league action.
The Chargers struck first just 2:38 into play, but Muise tallied her first goal only 57 seconds later to even the score at 1-1. However, UNH then scored the next 18 goals - the Chargers led 13-1 at halftime - before Muise scored again with just over five minutes left. New Haven scored once more to make it a 20-2 final.
The Owls are back in action on Thursday for a road game at Post.
