Emily Orser (Hamden, Conn.) each finished with three points, but the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team lost an 18-9 decision to Franklin Pierce on Saturday afternoon.
The Owls dropped to 1-6 overall and 0-5 in Northeast-10 Conference play. Franklin Pierce improved to 2-3, 1-2 in league action.
The Ravens scored the first goal of the game, but the Owls needed only 12 seconds to tie it on a goal from Cebry that was assisted by Muise. Orser then followed with a goal 66 seconds later to put the Owls in front, 2-1.
Franklin Pierce scored the next four goals before the Owls received markers from Cebry and
Jessica Shaw (Beverly, Mass.) to close the gap to 5-4. However, the Ravens netted the final four goals of the first half to make it 9-4 at the break.
Muise scored 2:06 into the second half to make the score, 9-5. The Ravens added the next two goals before Cebry and Muise connected to trim the deficit back to four at 11-7.
However, the Ravens scored seven of the final nine goals of the game, with the Owls' tallies coming from
Katie Walter (Woodbridge, Conn.) and Orser.
The Owls are back in action on April 3 for a home game against Assumption.
