Katie Walter (Orange, Conn.) netted a pair of goals, but the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team dropped a 22-5 decision to No. 4 nationally ranked LeMoyne on Tuesday afternoon.
The Owls are now 3-12 overall and 1-10 in Northeast-10 play. LeMoyne improved to 12-2, 10-1 in league action.
LeMoyne scored the first 15 goals of the game before
Jessica Shaw (Beverly, Mass.) got the Owls on the scoreboard in the closing minutes of the opening half. The Dolphins held a 17-1 lead at the break.
The second half featured nine goals, four of which were scored by the Owls. Walter recorded a pair, with
Sarah Muise (Killingworth, Conn.) and
Emily Orser (Hamden, Conn.) also netting one apiece.
Nora Anderson (Stratford, Conn.) finished with eight saves in the contest.
The Owls are back in action on Friday for the regular season finale against St. Anselm.
