Sarah Cebry (Burlington, Conn.) registered a pair of goals to move atop the all-time scoring list for the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team in its contest against No. 5 nationally ranked LIU-Post on Tuesday afternoon. The Owls dropped an 8-2 decision to the Pioneers.
Cebry now has 47 career goals and 105 career points, both of which are new program records. With the two goals on Tuesday, she moved ahead of Cathy Cardini, who had 101 career points.
Audrey Dolloff (Raynham, Mass.) stopped a career-high 23 shots for the Owls in the contest.
The Owls are now 0-6 on the year, while LIU-Post is 6-0.
The Pioneers scored five first half goals, three from Carlee Dragon, and the first marker of the second half to take a 6-0 lead. Cebry got the Owls on the board before Dragon netted her fourth of the afternoon. Cebry's second goal of the afternoon came off an assist from
Lauren Anderson (Cheshire, Conn.). The Pioneers added a late goal to make it an 8-2 final.
Southern Connecticut is back in action on Saturday for a home game against Saint Anselm.
