Box Score NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Erica McLean scored 4:53 into overtime to give visiting American International College a 3-2 victory over the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team tonight.
The Owls are now 2-9 overall and 0-4 in Northeast-10 Conference play. AIC improved to 5-6 overall and 1-3 in league action.
Southern Connecticut was less than two and a half minutes from the victory before AIC stormed back late. Jenna Masionis connected with 2:25 remaining in regulation to even the score at 2-2.
AIC opened the scoring only 2:05 into play on McLean's first of two goals on the night.
The Owls countered with two goals in a stretch of 7:24 later in the half.
Colleen Murphy (Branford, Conn.) evened the score with a marker off an assist from
Emma Farrel (Cheshire, Conn.).
Vienna Pallisco (New Milford, Conn.) followed shortly thereafter with a penalty stroke goal that put the Owls in front.
