Lauren Anderson (Cheshire, Conn.) scored a goal and fellow classmate and captain
Audrey Dolloff (Raynham, Mass.) made 17 saves, but the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team dropped a 6-1 decision at Saint Anselm today.
The Owls dropped to 1-6, 0-1 in Northeast-10 Conference play, while the Hawks are 5-1, 1-0.
Saint Anselm used goals from Allia Connolly and Emma Kincaid to build a 2-0 lead at the intermission. It was the first of three goals on the day from Connolly.
Bridget Davis made it 3-0 for the Hawks just 79 seconds into the second half before Connolly scored consecutive goals to build a 5-0 cushion.
Southern registered its lone tally when Anderson connected on a shot through the Hawks' goalie's legs.
Jamie McNamara added a late goal for the Hawks to make it a 6-1 final.
The Owls are back in action on Wednesday at Mercy.
