Box Score NEW HAVEN,Conn. - Pitcher Yesenia Evaristo (Bethel,Conn.) gets another win this afternoon as the Southern Connecticut State University softball defeats the Panters from Adelphi University, 3-2 in New Haven, Conn.


The Owls are now 13-18 overall, 5-12 in Northeast-10 Conference play. Adelphi is now 21-15 overall, 11-7 in NE-10 play.


Nicole Buch (Darien, Conn.) brought in all three runs for the Owls this afternoon. She did it with an RBI single to left field in the first inning and a two RBI single to left center in the third inning. This quickly got Southern out to a 3-0 lead.



The Panthers got close in the fourth, scoring two runs off a single to right field and a sacrifice ground ball. Evaristo was too strong at the end of the game, putting Adelphi away and getting the Owls the win by a final score of 3-2.


The Owls will be back on the field on April 22 when they travel to New York, New York to take on Pace. First pitch for that game will be thrown at 4 p.m.
