FORMIDABLE FOES AWAIT
The Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team prepares for two Northeast-10 Conference games this week. The Owls host LIU-Post on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. before a Friday night road game at No. 10 nationally ranked Stonehill.

ALL-TIME VERSUS LIU-POST
LIU-Post leads the all-time series with the Owls, 18-11-1.

THE LAST MEETING WITH LIU-POST
Vienna Pallisco and Whitney Dyer each scored a goal as the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team was doubled up by No. 6 nationally ranked LIU-Post on Oct. 14, 2014, 4-2.
• The only goal of the first half came from LIU's Kaycee Zelkovsky just over four minutes into play. Five goals were scored in the second half between the two clubs, with Keliann Margiotta extending the Pioneers' lead to 2-0 just over seven minutes into the second half.
• Dyer cut the lead in half with her second goal of the year, off an assist from Emma Farrel.
• Lauren Adamusik restored the two-goal lead for the hosts before Pallisco registered her second of the year to make it 3-2 with 11:51 left. Margiotta added a tally later to make it a 4-2 final.
• Goalie Audrey Dolloff turned away 13 shots for the Owls in the contest.

ALL-TIME VERSUS STONEHILL
Stonehill leads the all-time series with the Owls, 18-8.

THE LAST MEETING WITH STONEHILL
Colleen Murphy and Bailey McGinnis each scored a goal, but the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team dropped a 6-2 decision to No. 4 nationally ranked Stonehill on Nov. 1, 2014.
• The game was tied at 1-1 at halftime, but the Skyhawks used four goals in the first 15:57 of the second half to pull away. Erika Kelly opened the scoring only 3:13 into the game – her first of three goals on the night – to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
• Southern answered just over nine minutes later when Murphy broke ahead of the field and knocked in the rebound of her own shot.
• Sarah Morse connected 4:49 into the second half to put Stonehill back on top, and Kelly scored the next two Stonehill goals for a 4-1 cushion. Alexandria Sylvia would tack on a pair of goals around McGinnis' goal, one that came off an assist from Zoe Fanolis.

LAST TIME OUT
Carly Canavan scored her second goal of the game 5:55 into overtime as the Franklin Pierce field hockey team rallied from a 2-0 halftime deficit to defeat Southern Connecticut State University, 3-2 on Saturday night.
• A strong first half appeared to have the Owls on their way to a win. Kristi Montemurro netted a pair of unassisted, rebound goals that gave Southern a 2-0 lead at the break.
• Canavan cut that deficit in half just 4:54 into the second stanza. Shannon O'Leary tied the game at 2-2 on a penalty stroke goal with 13:28 remaining to force overtime.
• Audrey Dolloff made 16 saves for the Owls in the contest.

A LOT OF CLOSE GAMES DURING THIS SEASON
Six of Southern's 12 matches this season have been decided by a goal. The Owls are 3-3 in those games.

DOLLOFF AMONG NCAA STATS LEADERS
Audrey Dolloff is currently No. 3 in Division II in saves per game and is No. 13 in save percentage.

OVERTIME NOT KIND AS OF LATE
The Owls have dropped their last four overtime decisions dating back to the 2013 season. Their last OT win came that September in a 3-2 win over St. Anselm.

OWLS ON THEIR WAY
SCSU needed just 10 games this year to surpass its win total from all of last year.

DOLLOFF MATCHES CAREER HIGH
Audrey Dolloff has posted two shutouts already this season, matching a single-season high in that department. She also posted two shutouts during her freshman season in 2012.

ONE TO NOTHING
Final scores of 1-0 have not been commonplace around the Owls' program for the better part of the past decade, either on the plus or minus side. In fact, this season marks the first time since 2006 that the Owls have registered two 1-0 victories in the same campaign. It's also the first time since 2006 that SCSU has played in at least three games during a year with that score - the 2006 team played four 1-0 games and was 2-2 that year.

FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING (OR IN A WHILE)...
A few takeaways from the win over AIC:
• Zoe Fanolis netted her first collegiate game-winning goal.
• Sadie Young posted her first collegiate goal.
• Southern earned a win in its conference opener for the second time in the last three years.
• For the first time this year, the Owls had separate players score each goals in a contest in which they netted more than a single tally. Colleen Murphy had three goals in the win over Mansfield, while Bailey McGinnis had two goals in the loss to Franklin Pierce.

MCGINNIS RECORDS ANOTHER MULTI-GOAL GAME
Bailey McGinnis notched the fourth multiple-goal game of her collegiate career with two tallies in the game against Franklin Pierce.

DOLLOFF STARTS STRONG
Audrey Dolloff helped the Owls to a season opening split in a pair of games against Mansfield and No. 4 nationally ranked Shippensburg. Dolloff played the first 58:42 of action to earn the win against Mansfield and stopped all three shots she saw in the net. The following day, Dolloff kept the Owls right with the high-powered Raiders, stopping 20 shots in a 2-0 defeat.

MURPHY HAS A CAREER DAY
Senior Colleen Murphy kicked off the 2015 season in style, scoring her first career hat trick in the win over Mansfield.

JACKSON GETS INTO THE MIX
Freshman Alicia Jackson registered her first point as an Owl with an assist in the game against Mansfield.

THE CAPTAINS
Head Coach Kelley Frassinelli has announced that seniors Lauren Anderson and Audrey Dolloff, along with junior Meghan Davis will serve as the Owls team captains for the 2015 season.

WELCOME TO THE CLUB
The Owls welcome nine newcomers to the squad for the 2015 season - Madison Cole, Alicia Jackson, Kelli McCombs, Amanda Oberly, Kya O'Donnell, Natalia Prukalski, Emily Stross, Jacqueline Touzos and Sadie Young.

TEAM CAPTURES NFHCA ACADEMIC TEAM LAURELS

The National Academic Team Award recognizes those institutions that achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2014-15 academic year. In total, the Owls were one of 20 programs at the Division II level to be recognized with this honor.
