Box Score NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Molly Cunha scored the only goal of the game with 9:12 remaining in regulation as the LIU-Post field hockey team defeated Southern Connecticut State University this evening, 1-0.
The Owls are now 4-9 and 3-5 in Northeast-10 play. The Pioneers are 7-5 and 3-4.
Audrey Dolloff (Raynham, Mass.) made 15 saves in net for the Owls.
LIU-Post held a territorial and statistical edge throughout the contest, but SCSU was able to keep it scoreless thanks to Dolloff and a strong defensive effort. Unfortunately for the Owls, Cunha's diving bid at a rebound attempt with just over nine minutes to go proved to be the winner.
The Owls are back in action on Friday for a road game at Stonehill.
