Box Score PLESANTVILLE, N.Y. - Quirine van der Meijs scored the game-winning goal with just 56 seconds left in the first overtime as the Pace University field hockey team defeated Southern Connecticut State today, 2-1.
The Owls are now 5-12 and 3-8 in Northeast-10 Conference play. Pace improved to 6-11 and 3-8.
The only scoring of the first half came courtesy of a goal from Samantha Gray just under 15 minutes into play.
Southern tied the game midway through the second half on a goal from
Kya O'Donnell (Cheshire, Conn.) that was assisted by
Kristi Montemurro (New Milford, Conn.).
Audrey Dolloff (Raynham, Mass.) made nine saves in the game.
SCSU closes the 2015 season on Saturday with a game at St. Michael's.
