Audrey Dolloff (Raynham, Mass.), the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team dropped a 5-1 decision to No. 8 nationally ranked Merrimack today.
The Owls are now 4-7 and 3-3 in Northeast-10 Conference play. Merrimack is 8-2 and 4-1.
First half goals from Christine Zubkus and Mary McNeil gave the Warriors a 2-0 lead after the opening stanza.
SCSU cut the lead in half midway through the second half when
Emily Stross (Avon, Conn.) scored off an assist from
Lauren Anderson (Cheshire, Conn.). However, the Warriors scored the final three goals of the game, two from McNeil and one from Hannah Megerman.
The Owls are back in action on Saturday for a home game against Franklin Pierce.
