LENDING A HELPING HAND Kennedy Sherman has a team-high nine assists while
Emma Farrel and
Carolynn Keal have both added five of their own through the first seven games of the year. Sherman stands just four assists shy of matching the SCSU single-season record for assists.
CAREER DAYS FOR THREE OWLSKennedy Sherman had a career-high nine points (four goals, five assists) in the win over Alderson-Broaddus, while the six goals each for
Emma Farrel and
Jennifer McCarthy were also career-highs.
IT'S BEEN A WHILEThe 21 goals for the Owls against Alderson-Broaddus marked the first time that SCSU had scored 20 in a game since 2012, when it netted 22 in a win over Post.

BEST SEASON IN PROGRAM HISTORYWith wins over Bridgeport, Post, Queens and Merrimack, the Owls set a new program record for victories in 2014. The old mark of three had been set on three occasions.

IN THE NORTHEAST-10 PRESEASON POLLSouthern Connecticut was selected 12th in the Northeast-10 Conference preseason poll, as voted on by the league's coaches.
MCCARTHY NAMED TO ALL ROOKIE TEAMJennifer McCarthy was selected for the Northeast-10 Conference All-Rookie Team in 2014. She was ranked second on the team in goals (21) and points (25) and led all freshman in both categories. McCarthy also finished second on the team in draw controls with 36.
IN SEASON OPENERSThe Owls hold a 1-13 record in season openers. The win was over American International College in 2007.
