Zoe Fanolis (Hamden, Conn.) recorded the game-winning goal off a penalty corner with 48 seconds remaining as the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team earned a 4-3 victory over AIC this afternoon.
The Owls are now 2-4 overall on the season.
The teams traded first half goals -
Bailey McGinnis (Northford, Conn.) scored just over five minutes in before AIC's Emily Kollar tied the game about 16 minutes later.
AIC went in front just under three minutes into the second half on a goal from Liv Magni. The Owls netted the equalizer roughly two minutes after that on a penalty stroke goal from
Vienna Pallisco (Sherman, Conn.).
The first collegiate goal from Southern's
Sadie Young (West Brookfield, Mass.) gave the Owls the lead again at 3-2 with just over 10 minutes to go. Erica McLean evened the game with exactly six minutes remaining before Fanolis' late marker gave the Owls the win.

Audrey Dolloff (Raynham, Mass.) made eight saves in the contest.
The Owls are back in action on Tuesday for a home game against Bentley.
