THE LAST MEETING WITH BENTLEYBentley's Gina Lirange netted a hat trick, including the game-winning goal 9:09 into overtime, as the Falcons claimed a 3-2 victory over the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team on Nov. 8, 2014.
• Lirange opened the scoring just over 15 minutes into the game. The Owls quickly answered as
Lauren Anderson found the back of the net only 2:08 later to even the score.
• Southern went ahead about 10 minutes later on a tally from
Emma Farrel. However, Lirange scored just over two minutes later to even the score at 2-2.

Audrey Dolloff turned away a dozen shots for the Owls in the contest.
THE LAST MEETING WITH ASSUMPTIONKristi Montemurro scored her fifth goal of the year as the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team lost to Assumption College, 6-1 on Oct. 29, 2014.
• The Greyhounds took control with five first half goals. Allison Sheahan scored twice, with Kiley Collucci, Sarah Frahm and Belle Ives added single scores.
• After a Kayla Quinn goal made it 6-0, Montemurro scored off an assist from
Whitney Dyer.

Audrey Dolloff stopped 13 shots for the Owls in the game.
FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING (OR IN A WHILE)...A few takeaways from the win over AIC:

Zoe Fanolis netted her first collegiate game-winning goal.
•
Sadie Young posted her first collegiate goal.
• Southern earned a win in its conference opener for the second time in the last three years.
• For the first time this year, the Owls had separate players score each goals in a contest in which they netted more than a single tally.
Colleen Murphy had three goals in the win over Mansfield, while
Bailey McGinnis had two goals in the loss to Franklin Pierce.
LAST TIME OUTZoe Fanolis recorded the game-winning goal off a penalty corner with 48 seconds remaining as the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team earned a 4-3 victory over AIC on Saturday afternoon.
• The teams traded first half goals -
Bailey McGinnis scored just over five minutes in before AIC's Emily Kollar tied the game about 16 minutes later.
• AIC went in front just under three minutes into the second half on a goal from Liv Magni. The Owls netted the equalizer roughly two minutes after that on a penalty stroke goal from
Vienna Pallisco.
• The first collegiate goal from Southern's
Sadie Young gave the Owls the lead again at 3-2 with just over 10 minutes to go. Erica McLean evened the game with exactly six minutes remaining before Fanolis' late marker gave the Owls the win.

MCGINNIS RECORDS ANOTHER MULTI-GOAL GAMEBailey McGinnis notched the fourth multiple-goal game of her collegiate career with two tallies in the game against Franklin Pierce.
DOLLOFF STARTS STRONGAudrey Dolloff helped the Owls to a season opening split in a pair of games against Mansfield and No. 4 nationally ranked Shippensburg. Dolloff played the first 58:42 of action to earn the win against Mansfield and stopped all three shots she saw in the net. The following day, Dolloff kept the Owls right with the high-powered Raiders, stopping 20 shots in a 2-0 defeat.

Colleen Murphy kicked off the 2015 season in style, scoring her first career hat trick in the win over Mansfield.

FARREL MAKES A QUICK IMPACTEmma Farrel led the Owls in scoring as a freshman a year ago with 19 points and also topped the squad in goals (eight) while tying for the team lead in assists (three).
DOLLOFF RANKS AMONG NCAA LEADERSAudrey Dolloff finished the 2014 season ranked No. 3 in Division II with an average of 11.0 saves per game and was also 20th in save percentage (.731).

TEAM CAPTURES NFHCA ACADEMIC TEAM LAURELS
For the seventh year in a row, the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team was recognized with National Academic Team honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. The National Academic Team Award recognizes those institutions that achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2014-15 academic year. In total, the Owls were one of 20 programs at the Division II level to be recognized with this honor.
