DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Three different players scored a goal for the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team, but the host Mavericks used a four-goal second half to claim a 4-3 win over the Owls today.

Bailey McGinnis (North Branford, Conn.) found the back of the net only 55 seconds into play off an assist from
Jacqueline Touzos (Foxboro, Mass.).
Emily Stross (Avon, Conn.) followed with an unassisted goal later in the half to give the Owls a 2-0 lead at the break.
Vanessa Soler scored for Mercy 7:19 into the second half to cut the Owls' lead in half. Alicia Williams netted the tying goal 9:27 later. The game remained tied into the final five minutes of regulation when Jackie Ballin and Williams scored 2:04 apart to turn a 2-2 game into a 4-2 Mercy advantage.
Vienna Pallisco (Sherman, Conn.) added a late goal in the closing minutes to make it a 4-3 final.
