Bailey McGinnis (North Branford, Conn.) and
Emily Stross (Avon, Conn.) each tallied a goal, but the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team lost a 3-2 decision to Pace in Northeast-10 Conference play this evening.

OUT OF THE GATE QUICKLY: McGinnis opened the scoring just over 12 minutes into the game off a penalty corner.
Zoe Fanolis (Hamden, Conn.) and
Alicia Morgan (Stafford, Conn.) were credited with assists on the goal.
PACE SEIZES AHEAD: Halley Rose and Katrina Mikitish scored before the conclusion of the first half – the latter with just 33 seconds left in the frame – to give the Setters a 2-1 lead at the break. Carly Corbett then scored just over two minutes into the second half to extend the lead to two goals.
OWLS MAKE A LATE RUN: Stross converted a rebound of her own shot with 11:33 remaining to close the gap to just a goal. SCSU had several penalty corner chances in the final 10 minutes but were unable to net the equalizer.
