Box Score MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Southern Connecticut State University baseball team earned its first loss of the season as the Owls dropped a 3-2 decision to Dominican (N.Y.) College on Sunday afternoon by the score of 3-2. With the loss, the Owls fall to 3-1 overall while the Chargers improve to 1-3 on the season.
Red-shirt junior
Cole Bryant (Newington, Conn.) picked up the loss on the mound against the Chargers after pitching four innings for the Owls. He gave up all three runs (two were earned) as well as registered six hits, four walks and two strikeouts. Freshman
Quantique White (New London, Conn.) came in next for the Owls on the mound and pitched two innings. During those innings, he gave up one hit and struck out five Chargers. Sophomore
Griffin Bremer (Higganum, Conn.) relieved White and registered two strike outs.
Junior
McNeill Finnegan (Old Saybrook, Conn.) finished the day with two hits while junior
Ethan Joyce (Exeter, N.H.) had an RBI single and a stolen base.
Dominican opened the game with a 1-0 lead following an RBI single from Lopez before a home run from Decker and an unearned run from Bernacet extended the Chargers lead to 3-0 at the end of the fifth.Â

Tyler Criscuolo (Branford, Conn.) home off an RBI groundout to first. Down 3-1,
Ethan Joyce (Exeter, N.H.) brought the Owls to within one, 3-2, as his RBI single scored McNeill.
Nick Lamberti (East Haven, Conn.) was able to tie the game, but was unsuccesfull as he grounded out to short stop.
The Owls are back in action on March 5th against Dowling College in Oakdale, N.Y.
