ALL-TIME AGAINST ADELPHIAt the beginning of the season, Adelphi led Southern Connecticut in the all-time series with a record of 14-11. Adelphi won the last two meetings against the Owls and extend the all-time series record to 16-11.
PREVIOUSLY AGAINST ADELPHISouthern Connecticut lost the last two meetings against Adelphi by the scores of 6-4 and 6-5.
SCOUTING ADELPHI• The Panthers are currently 13-11 and 2-2 on the season after coming off a NE-10 conference split against Stonehill College on Saturday afternoon. • Adelphi currently ranks fourth in hits (228), doubles (39) and strikeouts (126).Â
• The Panthers' bullpen has an ERA 4.33, ranking ninth in the Northeast-10 Conference.
ALL-TIME AGAINST MERRIMACKMerrimack holds a 21-18 edge over Southern Connecticut in the all-time series.
LAST TIME AGAINST MERRIMACKSouthern Connecticut and Merrimack have not played on another since the 2014 season where the Owls went 0-2 against the Warriors. Merrimack won the first game by the score of 6-0 before taking the second game 10-6 in 12 innings.
SCOUTING MERRIMACK• The Warriors are currently 13-9 and 1-1 on the season while coming off a NE-10 conference split against Saint Rose on Saturday afternoon.
• Merrimack's bullpen has an ERA of 3.70, ranking sixth in the Northeast-10 Conference.
• At the plate, Merrimack has a .279 batting average and a .386 slugging percentage.
ALL-TIME AGAINST ASSUMPTIONAssumption leads Southern Connecticut in the all-time series with a record of 31-14.
LAST TIME AGAINST ASSUMPTIONSouthern Connecticut and Assumption have not played one another since the 2014 season where the Owls went 1-1 against the Greyhounds. Assumption took game one by the score of 10-6, but Southern Connecticut secured game two with a 12-2 home victory.
SCOUTING ASSUMPTION• The Greyhounds are currently 9-13 and 4-4 on the season while on a three-game losing streak.
• Assumption ranks second in the Northeast-10 Conference in home runs (13) and sacrifice flies (13).
• The Greyhounds bullpen has a current ERA of 5.41, ranking the team 10th in the NE-10.
LAST WEEK RECAPSouthern Connecticut was scheduled to play six games last week, but due to inclement weather the Owls only played two. In the first game, Southern Connecticut defeated Post University in 10 innings by the score of 4-3. On Wednesday, Southern Connecticut upset cross-town rival New Haven, beating the Chargers 6-4.
LAST WEEK'S STAT BREAKDOWN•
Greg Zullo led the Owls at the plate after going 3-for-6 over the two games. He also recorded a run and a RBI.

Brandon Rentas earned the "W" against New Haven after allowing three runs off five hits while registering four strikeouts and three walks over seven innings on the mound.
•
Quantique White earned the "W" against Post University as the rookie allowed only five hits while striking out four batters over five innings.
• Rentas improves to 1-2 on the season while White improve to 2-1.
• As a team, Southern Connecticut averaged a batting average of .227 (15-for-66) while collecting 10 runs and seven RBI.
ZULLO NAMED CT ARMY NATIONAL GUARD / SCSU ATHLETE OF THE WEEKZullo helped the Owls record a perfect 2-0 week with victories over Post and New Haven. He paced the club with a .500 batting average and a .667 on-base percentage. Zullo also drove in a run and scored a run in addition to drawing three walks.

LOOKING BACK AT LAST SEASONThe baseball team finished the 2014-15 season with an overall record of 18-19. The Owls were selected to finish first in the Southwest Division preseason poll. Southern Connecticut also ranked as high as No. 8 in the regional polls last season.
