PAIR OF GAMES AHEAD
Northeast-10 Conference play continues in full swing with two more league games for the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team this week. The Owls host Bentley on Tuesday evening before hitting the road to face Stonehill on Thursday.

QUICK PROGRESS
The Owls needed just seven games in 2016 to match their win total from last year.

LAST TIME OUT
Nicole Healey netted a hat trick as the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team lost to St. Anselm on Saturday in a Northeast-10 Conference contest, 17-5.
• Healey opened the scoring in the game off an assist from Jennifer McCarthy just over three minutes into play.
• However, the hosts scored the next four goals. Markers from Samantha Cozzolino and another from Healey closed the gap to 5-3. SCSU would get no closer though, as the Hawks scored the next eight goals to build a 13-3 lead. The advantage was 11-3 at the break.
Kennedy Sherman and Healey scored second half goals in a 17-5 final.

AMONG THE NE-10 LEADERS
Two Owls currently rank among the Northeast-10 Conference statistical leaders. Carolynn Keal is No. 2 in the league in groundballs and fifth in caused turnovers. Nicole Healey ranks fifth in draw controls.

DUO OUT TO A QUICK START
The offensive tandem of Nicole Healey and Samantha Cozzolino has provided a key spark through Southern's first seven games of the year. Healey leads the Owls in goals (20), assists (5) and points (25), while Cozzolino is first among Southern rookies in goals (15), assists (3) and points (18).

POSTING A PROGRAM FIRST
The Owls registered their first shutout in program history on March 17 against Post. Goalie Chelsea Callahan stopped all three shots on net in order to notch the shutout. Southern's previous low for goals allowed was four, set on three occasions.

GRANDE ACCLIMATING QUICKLY
Freshman defender Brianna Grande is second on the team with 12 caused turnovers and with 19 groundballs this year.

ALL-TIME VS. BENTLEY
Bentley holds an 14-0 edge in the all-time series between the schools.

THE LAST MEETING WITH BENTLEY
Emma Farrel registered her second six-goal game of the year and also added an assist, but the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team lost a 14-10 decision to No. 20 nationally ranked Bentley on April 4, 2015.
• Bentley jumped out to a 4-0 lead before Farrel and Jennifer McCarthy got the Owls on the board and made it a 4-2 game. The teams then alternated the next four total goals - Farrel and Lauren Anderson scored for the Owls - to push the score to 6-4 in favor of Bentley. The Falcons then scored five of the final seven goals of the opening half - Farrel and Kennedy Sherman recorded the two Owls' goals - to carry an 11-6 lead into halftime.
• The hosts scored twice in the opening five minutes of the second half to build their biggest lead of the game at 13-6. The Owls defense then tightened up and didn't allow another Bentley goal for almost 24 minutes. During that stretch, Farrel scored twice along with a single goal from Carolynn Keal to close within four at 13-9. The teams would then trade goals in the final 68 seconds to make it a 14-10 final.

ALL-TIME VS. STONEHILL
Stonehill holds an 14-0 edge in the all-time series between the schools.

THE LAST MEETING WITH STONEHILL
Emma Farrel had a hat trick and classmate Carolynn Keal tallied two goals and an assist as the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team dropped a 20-9 decision to No. 9 nationally ranked Stonehill on March 23, 2015.
• Stonehill jumped out to a 6-0 lead before the Owls scored three of the next four goals - two from Keal and one from Farrel - to trim the deficit to 7-3. However, the Skyhawks scored the final two goals of the stanza to make it 9-3 at the break.
• Farrel opened the second half scoring but SCSU would get no closer than five the rest of the way. The visitors scored three straight after the Farrel marker to pull away for good. Nicole Healey, Kennedy Sherman and Jennifer McCarthy had second half goals for the Owls.
Nora Anderson stopped 10 shots for the Owls in the contest.

HEALEY NAMED TO NE-10 WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
