The Owls host Bentley on Tuesday evening before hitting the road to face Stonehill on Thursday.
QUICK PROGRESS The Owls needed just seven games in 2016 to match their win total from last year.
LAST TIME OUTNicole Healey netted a hat trick as the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team lost to St. Anselm on Saturday in a Northeast-10 Conference contest, 17-5.
• Healey opened the scoring in the game off an assist from
Jennifer McCarthy just over three minutes into play.
• However, the hosts scored the next four goals. Markers from
Samantha Cozzolino and another from Healey closed the gap to 5-3. SCSU would get no closer though, as the Hawks scored the next eight goals to build a 13-3 lead. The advantage was 11-3 at the break.

Kennedy Sherman and Healey scored second half goals in a 17-5 final.
AMONG THE NE-10 LEADERSTwo Owls currently rank among the Northeast-10 Conference statistical leaders.
Carolynn Keal is No. 2 in the league in groundballs and fifth in caused turnovers.
Nicole Healey ranks fifth in draw controls.
DUO OUT TO A QUICK STARTThe offensive tandem of
Nicole Healey and
Samantha Cozzolino has provided a key spark through Southern's first seven games of the year. Healey leads the Owls in goals (20), assists (5) and points (25), while Cozzolino is first among Southern rookies in goals (15), assists (3) and points (18).
POSTING A PROGRAM FIRSTThe Owls registered their first shutout in program history on March 17 against Post. Goalie
Chelsea Callahan stopped all three shots on net in order to notch the shutout. Southern's previous low for goals allowed was four, set on three occasions.
GRANDE ACCLIMATING QUICKLYFreshman defender
Brianna Grande is second on the team with 12 caused turnovers and with 19 groundballs this year.
ALL-TIME VS. BENTLEYBentley holds an 14-0 edge in the all-time series between the schools.
THE LAST MEETING WITH BENTLEYEmma Farrel registered her second six-goal game of the year and also added an assist, but the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team lost a 14-10 decision to No. 20 nationally ranked Bentley on April 4, 2015.
• Bentley jumped out to a 4-0 lead before Farrel and
Jennifer McCarthy got the Owls on the board and made it a 4-2 game. The teams then alternated the next four total goals - Farrel and
Lauren Anderson scored for the Owls - to push the score to 6-4 in favor of Bentley. The Falcons then scored five of the final seven goals of the opening half - Farrel and
Kennedy Sherman recorded the two Owls' goals - to carry an 11-6 lead into halftime.
• The hosts scored twice in the opening five minutes of the second half to build their biggest lead of the game at 13-6. The Owls defense then tightened up and didn't allow another Bentley goal for almost 24 minutes. During that stretch, Farrel scored twice along with a single goal from
Carolynn Keal to close within four at 13-9. The teams would then trade goals in the final 68 seconds to make it a 14-10 final.

THE LAST MEETING WITH STONEHILLEmma Farrel had a hat trick and classmate
Carolynn Keal tallied two goals and an assist as the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team dropped a 20-9 decision to No. 9 nationally ranked Stonehill on March 23, 2015.
• Stonehill jumped out to a 6-0 lead before the Owls scored three of the next four goals - two from Keal and one from Farrel - to trim the deficit to 7-3. However, the Skyhawks scored the final two goals of the stanza to make it 9-3 at the break.
• Farrel opened the second half scoring but SCSU would get no closer than five the rest of the way. The visitors scored three straight after the Farrel marker to pull away for good.

HEALEY NAMED TO NE-10 WEEKLY HONOR ROLLNicole Healey was named to the Northeast-10 weekly honor roll on March 21 for her play in the games against Dowling, Post and St. Thomas Aquinas. Healey led Southern with 12 points (nine goals, three assists) during the week.
QUITE A WAY TO FINISHNicole Healey capped her hat trick in the opener with the game-winning goal on a free position shot in overtime to give Southern the win.
A STRONG DEBUTFreshman
Alexandra Takacs turned away eight shots to earn the win between the pipes in her collegiate debut against Merrimack.
IN SEASON OPENERSWith the win against Merrimack, the Owls now hold a 2-13 record in season openers. The win was over American International College in 2007.
GOOD GROUP BACKSouthern Connecticut has 13 student-athletes returning from last year's team.
