BASEBALL WRAPS UP REGULAR SEASON THIS WEEK
The Southern Connecticut State University baseball team will wrap up the 2016 regular season this week against Adelphi University and Le Moyne College. The Owls will travel to Garden City, N.Y. on Tuesday to take on the Panthers at 3:30 p.m. before returning home to host Le Moyne on Friday and Saturday afternoon.

ALL-TIME AGAINST ADELPHI
At the beginning of the season, Adelphi led the all-time series record 14-11 against Southern Connecticut. Following the three losses and a win over the Panthers this season, the Owls now trail 17-12.
PREVIOUSLY AGAINST ADELPHI
Southern Connecticut and Adelphi has faced each other four times this year. The series is tied at 1-1 and the final game will be played on Tuesday afternoon.

SCOUTING ADELPHI
• The Panthers are coming off a 3-1 week and are now 22-20 and 10-6 in the Southwest Division.
• As a team, Adelphi has a .281 batting average as well as collected a season total of 400 hits and 172 RBI.
• At home, Adelphi has a record of 11-9.
• Adelphi's bullpen has an overall ERA of  3.92 while posted a .272 batting average against and 228 strikeouts.
• T. Santiago remains ranked fifth in the league with 69 strikeouts. He also leads the bullpen with an ERA of 2.58.
ALL-TIME AGAINST LE MOYNE
Le Moyne leads the all-time series over Southern Connecticut, 23-12.
LAST SEASON AGAINST LE MOYNE
Southern Connecticut finished last season with a 2-1 record against Le Moyne. The Dolphins stole game one by the score of 7-3, but the Owls bounced back taking games two and three, 5-3 and 4-2.
SCOUTING LE MOYNE
• Le Moyne is currently on a four-game winning streak and has an overall record of 24-14 and 6-8.
• Before facing the Owls on Friday, Le Moyne will face Saint Rose on May 3.
• As a team, the Dolphins have a stat line of .278 / .359 / .392.
• Le Moyne's bullpen ranks third in strikeouts (223), ERA (3.36) and batting average against (.227).
• D. Power ranks first in the league with a total of 96 strikeouts while Z. Place ranks third with 78 strikeouts.

A QUICK LOOK BACK
Southern Connecticut finished last week with a record of 4-1, the only loss coming against American International on Saturday,3-1. The Owls defeated Post (11-1), New Haven (10-5) and AIC (8-4 and 7-5).
STAT BREAKDOWN
• As a team, Southern Connecticut finished the week going 58-for-187 (.310) as well as collected 37 runs and 31 RBI.
• The Owls' bullpen recorded a 3.07 ERA while their opponent registered a 5.73 ERA and a .254 batting against average.
• Over the last five games, Southern Connecticut scored the most runs in the fifth and sixth inning with 10 runs in each.
STANDOUTS AT THE PLATE

Jake Paul batted .455 (10-for-22) with two home runs, eight RBI and six runs scored. Paul had a hit in all five games during the week, including four multiple-hit efforts and three multiple RBI performances.Â

Ethan Joyce also had an impressive week as the junior batted .474 (9-for-19) with five runs, two doubles and three RBI.

Greg Zullo went 6-for-14 (.429) last week at the plate while recording four runs, two doubles and a RBI.
STANDOUTS ON THE MOUND
•
Cole Bryant earned the "W" for the Owls and collected his win on the mound for the visitors this season. Bryant pitched seven innings and allowed one run, six hits, two walks and five strikeouts.Â

Brandon Rentas picked up the "W" in game one after allowing four runs on eight hits while striking out five and walking a batter over 6.2 innings on the mound.
•
Jason Harper earned his fifth win of the year as the righty allowed three runs, five hits, three walks and six strikeouts over 6.0 innings on the mound.
•
Shawn Urbano earned his second win of the season as he pitched a total of 1.1 innings and allowed two hits and a run.
•
Quantique White pitched a total of 4.2 inning, earning a 3.86 ERA and recording his first two saves of the year.

LOOKING BACK AT LAST SEASON
The baseball team finished the 2014-15 season with an overall record of 18-19. The Owls were selected to finish first in the Southwest Division preseason poll. Southern Connecticut also ranked as high as No. 8 in the regional polls last season.
