Zoe Fanolis (Hamden, Conn.) scored the game-winning goal off a penalty corner with 2:27 remaining as the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team earned its first win of the year this evening, 2-1 over Franklin Pierce.

THE GAME-WINNER: Alicia Morgan (Stafford, Conn.) fed
Bailey McGinnis (North Branford, Conn.) to start the eventual game-winning sequence. McGinnis then slipped a pass to Fanolis on the left, who lofted a shot into the top of the cage for her second goal of the year.
THE IGNITOR: Emma Perry (East Lyme, Conn.) netted her first collegiate goal at the 5:34 mark of the second half, knocking in a rebound to knot the score at 1-1. The Ravens had led since the 8:25 mark of the game on a Kenady Kelly tally.
STANDING TALL: Owls' goalie
Brianna Craft (Hamden, Conn.) made nine saves in the game and kept the Ravens off the scoreboard for the final 61:35 of the game.
