The Southern Connecticut State University field hockey squad will play two conference games this week. On Tuesday evening, SCSU will host No. 4 nationally ranked LIU Post at 7 p.m. The two teams met earlier this season for non-conference action, where the Pioneers took the victory, 4-1. Then, the Owls travel to Saint Michael's College on Saturday for a 12 p.m. tilt against the Purple Knights. The last time these teams met, the Purple Knights defeated the Owls 2-0.

Sadie Young (West Brookfield, Mass.) is tied for second in defensive saves with five.
QUEEN OF HER CRAFT
Sophomore Brianna Craft (Hamden, Conn.) is ranked No. 1 in saves for not only the NE10 conference, but also the NCAA with 161 saves made this season. Only a sophomore, Craft currently leads all active goalies in the NCAA in saves with 368.
NIFTY NEWCOMERS
Three freshmen newcomers, Chloe Knight,
Karley Welles and
Jessica Maier pitched in on all four of the Owls' goals in their 4-2 win over Saint Thomas Aquinas on September 20.

Freshman Jessica Maier leads the Owls in goals (five) and points (13) heading into this week's action.
YOUNG AT HEART
Second in the NE10 in defensive saves with five, Sadie Young also netted the game-winning goal in the victory over St. Thomas Aquinas. Coincidentally, two of Young's three career goals have been game-winners, with the other one also a go-ahead tally.
MASTERING HER CRAFT
Sophomore Brianna Craft had a career-high and also broke an SCSU record she previously tied with 27 saves in the Owls' loss to No. 8 LIU Post on September 12.
MAIER NAMED NE10 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Jessica Maier was named the NE10 Rookie of the Week on Sept. 11 after she collected her first three collegiate points (two goals, one assist), which included the game-winning goal in a 4-3 win over Molloy on September 9.
GETTING CRAFTY
Sophomore Brianna Craft set a career-best and tied a program-best in saves with 24 in the Owls 8-0 loss against No. 1 nationally ranked Shippensburg on Sept. 3.
PRUKALSKI NAMED TEAM CAPTAIN
Head Coach Kelley Frassinelli has announced that junior Natasha Prukalski will serve as the Owls team captain for the 2017 season.
