NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Junior
Carolynn Keal (Southington, Conn.) finished with five points (four goals, one assist) to surpass the 100-point mark for her career, but the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team lost a 17-16 decision to Franklin Pierce today. The Owls rallied from a four-goal halftime deficit to tie the game at 12-12 with 14:57 remaining. However, the Ravens scored the next four goals and hung on from there to secure the win.

Nicole Healey (Milford, Conn.) also scored four times for the Owls.
Samantha Cozzolino (Hamden, Conn.) finished with four points on three goals and an assist, while
Morgan Hanks (Windsor, Conn.) netted her first collegiate hat trick.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Ravens jumped out to a 7-3 lead and held a 9-5 lead at the intermission. Southern started its comeback right out of the second half gate, as markers from Keal, Healey and Hanks cut the deficit to 9-8.
Franklin Pierce scored the next two goals before Keal and
Kennedy Sherman (Buchanan, N.Y.) got it back to a one goal game at 11-10. After a Ravens goal, consecutive tallies from Hanks and Healey knotted the score at 12-12.
The Ravens scored four straight from there, but the Owls gave it one last run. Keal and Caitlin Sweeney traded markers to make it 17-13. Cozzolino then netted two goals and Hanks another to make it 17-16 with 57 seconds left. However, the Ravens won the ensuing draw and ran out the clock from there.
