BACK AT IT
The Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team will play two games this week. The Owls close a three-game homestand on Tuesday with a 6 p.m. home game against Assumption. On Saturday, the Owls travel to No. 3 nationally ranked LeMoyne in a 12 p.m. start.
ALL-TIME VS. ASSUMPTION
The Greyhounds lead the Owls in the all-time series, 12-3.
ALL-TIME VS. LEMOYNE
The Dolphins lead the all-time series, 6-0.
LAST TIME OUT
Junior
Carolynn Keal finished with five points (four goals, one assist) to surpass the 100-point mark for her career, but the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team lost a 17-16 decision to Franklin Pierce on Saturday. The Owls rallied from a four-goal halftime deficit to tie the game at 12-12 with 14:57 remaining. However, the Ravens scored the next four goals and hung on from there to secure the win.

Nicole Healey also scored four times for the Owls.
Samantha Cozzolino finished with four points on three goals and an assist, while
Morgan Hanks netted her first collegiate hat trick.
HEALEY TAKES THE TOP SPOT
Thanks to a four-point day against St. Michael's,
Nicole Healey moved into first place on Southern's career scoring list. She surpassed Allison Kownacki, who had 130 points as an Owl. Healey currently has 136 career points.
KEAL DOES THE SAME
Thanks to three caused turnovers versus Pace, junior
Carolynn Keal moved past Marissa Ryan in caused turnovers. Keal now has 80 and broke a tie with Ryan, who had 70 in her career.
COZZOLINO REMAINS CONSISTENT
Sophomore
Samantha Cozzolino is on her way to surpassing her statistics from a freshman campaign in which she earned NE10 All-Rookie Team honors. Cozzolino, who had 29 points (26 goals, three assists) last year, currently has 30 points (22 goals, eight assists) this year.
HEALEY HAS A DAY
Junior
Nicole Healey tallied five goals in the first half along with three in the second half against Saint Anselm, including the tying goal on a free position attempt with 32 seconds left in regulation.
• The eight goals set a new career-high for Healey and earned her the second-best single-game effort all-time behind Allison Kownacki (9 against AIC on 3/27/07).
KEAL JOINS THE CENTURY CLUB
Carolynn Keal became the sixth player in program history to notch 100 career points with a five-point day against Franklin Pierce.
HEALEY EARNS FOURTH NE10 WEEKLY HONOR
Junior
Nicole Healey of the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team was named to the NE10 weekly honor roll for the fourth time this year on April 10. She scored seven points in the Owls' two games during the week against Bentley and St. Michael's.
A FIRST 2-0 START
The Owls jumped out of the gates to a 2-0 start for the first time in program history.
HEALEY JOINS THE 100 POINT CLUB
Nicole Healey became the fifth Owl to join the 100 point club after a six-point performance in a win against Bridgeport, where she registered five goals and one assist.
BIG DAY FOR COZZOLINO
For the second time in her collegiate career,
Samantha Cozzolino had four goals and five points in a game in the win over STAC. She also tallied the same stat line in a win over Post last year.
COZZOLINO NAMED TO NE10 WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Sophomore
Samantha Cozzolino of the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team was named to the NE10 weekly honor roll for her play in the Owls' season opening win over St. Thomas Aquinas.
• Cozzolino matched her single-game career-highs with four goals and five points to lead the Owls to a 14-6 win season opening win against St. Thomas Aquinas. She also registered two caused turnovers and a groundball in the contest.
IN SEASON OPENERS
The Owls now hold a 3-13 record in season openers, including wins over Merrimack in 2016 and St. Thomas Aquinas this year.
GOOD GROUP BACK
Southern Connecticut has 15 student-athletes returning from last year's team.

IN THE NORTHEAST-10 PRESEASON POLL
Southern Connecticut was selected 13th in the Northeast-10 Conference preseason poll, as voted on by the league's coaches.
TWO NAMED TO NE10 ALL-ROOKIE TEAM
Samantha Cozzolino and
Brianna Grande were both named to the NE10 All-Rookie Team at the conclusion of the 2016 season. Cozzolino led all SCSU rookies in goals (26), assists (3), points (29) and draw controls (38) last year. Grande registered 21 caused turnovers, which was the fifth-best single-season total in school history. She finished second on the team in that department and also was second on the team – and tops among newcomers – with 35 groundballs. She also ranked among the league leaders in caused turnovers.
PAIR NAMED TO IWLCA ZAG SPORTS DIVISION II ACADEMIC HONOR ROLL
Lindsey Luposello and
Alexa Picciuto were selected to the IWLCA Zag Sports Division II Academic Honor Roll. In order to receive this honor, student-athletes must have achieved at least a minimum GPA of 3.5 and maintained at least junior academic standing.
PLENTY OF FIREPOWER COMING BACK
The Owls return their top three scorers from a year ago -
Nicole Healey (56 points),
Carolynn Keal (40 points) and
Samantha Cozzolino (29 points). In all, SCSU has 81-percent of its scoring from a year ago coming back in 2017.
