SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The American International College women's lacrosse team scored the final five goals of the game to turn a 13-11 deficit into a 16-13 win over Southern Connecticut State University tonight.

Kennedy Sherman (Buchanan, N.Y.) finished with four points (two goals, two assists) to become the seventh player in school history to tally 100 career points.
Hailey Prindle-Nelson (Sharon, Conn.) also had two goals and two assists, while
Nicole Healey (Milford, Conn.) scored four times for the Owls.
Carolynn Keal (Southington, Conn.) posted two goals and an assist.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Owls trailed by three goals, 10-7, early in the second half before scoring three straight goals and six of the next seven for a 13-11 cushion with 11:31 left. However, the Yellow Jackets scored the next goal and went on to net five consecutive goals in 4:44 to secure the win.
In the first half, Healey opened the scoring for the Owls before AIC scored three times. After another Healey goal, three straight AIC tallies padded the lead to 6-2. SCSU countered by closing the half on a 5-1 run to cut the deficit to 7-6 at the half.
Samantha Cozzolino (Hamden, Conn.) opened the second half scoring with a goal that tied the game at 7-7 before three straight AIC scores.
