Box Score NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Southern Connecticut State University baseball team defeated Adelphi University today, 5-2.

Kyle Hart (North Branford, Conn.) went 4-for-4 where he scored two runs, while Griffin Garabedian (Hamden, Conn.) went 3-for-4 scoring one run and tallying two RBI to help lead the Owls over the Panthers.Â
Hart started the Owls surge in the second inning singling through the right side. Connor Redahan (Greenwich, Conn.) knocked a base hit up the middle putting runners on first and second. Garabedian stepped to the plate and blasted a double through the left side, which scored Hart and Redahan, 2-0 Owls. Jim Palmer (Milford, Conn.) knocked in Garabedian after reaching first on an error to end the inning, 3-0.
The third inning saw the Owls tally two more runs to increase their lead to five. Mike DeMartino (New Haven, Conn.) smacked an RBI double to center field, which scored Hart, 4-0. Redahan stepped up and singled to right field scoring DeMartino from second, 5-0 Owls.Â
Adelphi attempted to get the offense going in the sixth and the ninth inning scoring one run in each, but the Owls defense played strong and held on for the 5-2 Â victory.Â
Brendan Ebert (Berlin, Conn.) earned his fourth win of the season after he allowed just four hits and struck out five of 27 batters faced.Â

The Owls take the diamond again at the ballpark on Saturday, 4/29 for a doubleheader against American International College beginning at 12Â p.m. and for a single game to be played on Sunday, 4/30 against the Yellow Jackets beginning at 1 p.m.
