The Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team opens the 2017 season with two games in Shippensburg, Pa. The Owls will face Mansfield on Saturday for their season opener. Game time is set for 3 p.m. The following day, SCSU will take on No. 1 nationally ranked Shippensburg for a 1:30 p.m. start.

CRAFT RANKS AMONG NCAA LEADERS
Last year, sophomore
Brianna Craft was ranked No. 2 in the NCAA in saves per game with 11.50 in her debut season for the Owls.
TEAM CAPTURES NFHCA ACADEMIC TEAM LAURELS
For the 10th year in a row, the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team was recognized with National Academic Team honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. The National Academic Team Award recognizes those institutions that achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2016-17 academic year.

The Owls open the home schedule on September 6 as they take on Pace University at 7 p.m.
