One game at home and one on the road are up ahead for the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey squad this week. On Wednesday night, SCSU hosts Pace University in its home opener at Jess Dow Field at 7 p.m. On Saturday, the Owls travel to Molloy College for a 2:30 p.m. start.

The two programs have met only twice, and the Setters lead the series 2-0 over the Owls.

The two schools met for the first time in program history last September, where SCSU took the win and now holds a 1-0 series record over Molloy.

GETTING CRAFTY
Sophomore
Brianna Craft set a career-best and program-best in saves with 24 in the Owls 8-0 loss against No. 1 nationally ranked Shippensburg this past weekend.
PRUKALSKI NAMED TEAM CAPTAIN

Kelley Frassinelli has announced that junior Natasha Prukalski will serve as the Owls team captain for the 2017 season.

TEAM CAPTURES NFHCA ACADEMIC TEAM LAURELS
For the 10th year in a row, the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team was recognized with National Academic Team honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. The National Academic Team Award recognizes those institutions that achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2016-17 academic year.
ON DECK
The Owls open travel to LIU Post on Sept. 12 for a showdown with the Pioneers, which is set to begin at 4 p.m.
