Field Hockey Drops Decision To Franklin Pierce

Box Score RINDGE, N.H. – The Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team fell to Franklin Pierce University, 5-1 today at Sodexo Field.

HOW IT
HAPPENED
  • Ashley Silva put the Ravens on the board at 7:55 when she scored off a penalty corner with a reverse shot to the right side. The Ravens struck again three minutes later as Raegan Moulton scored off a penalty corner to give FPU a 2-0 lead. 
  • Late in the first half, Franklin Pierce's Feline van Doorn slid the ball to Madison Gagnon to put the Ravens up 3-0 heading into halftime.
  • Franklin Pierce added another goal at 54:49 after Dayna Kowesky knocked in a rebound. FPU's Rachel LaPointe gave the Ravens a five-goal lead after Madison Gagnon fed the ball to LaPointe on the right side and she shot it in to the far post.
  • Sophomore Chloe Knight (New Milford, Conn.) put the Owls on the board after she tipped in a rebound off a shot from senior Natasha Prukalski (Danbury, Conn.) in the midfield with 4 seconds remaining in the game. 

UP NEXT
The Owls return home from their four-game road swing with a game on Wednesday evening against No. 9 nationally ranked, Pace University for a 7 p.m. matchup with the Setters.
