NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University softball team dropped two decisions to Adelphi this afternoon, 8-6 and 13-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED...GAME 1
-Adelphi jumped on the board with one run in the first inning off a Nicole Camera double to right field. In the bottom half of the inning, Delaporta smacked a two RBI double to left field to get the Owls on the board and give them a 2-1 lead.
- The Panthers scored on a wild pitch in the second to tie it, but the Owls came back when freshman
Lauryn Zubia (San Fernando, Calif.) walked to score McIntosh.
- A strong fourth inning saw the Panthers score three runs to take a 5-3 lead. Southern answered with a McIntosh homerun to left field that put the Owls within one.
- A double to right center in the fifth inning put the Panthers up by two, but sophomore Maria Zecena (Stamford, Conn.) pounded a homerun to left field to score two and tie the game at 6-6.
- Adelphi made a push in the sixth inning and scored two runs, which were the eventual game-winners.
HOW IT HAPPENED...GAME 2
- Sophomore
Sara Buscetto (Waterford, Conn.) wasted no time in getting the Owls on the board as she homered to left center in the first inning. The Panthers added one in the second to tie it.
- Adelphi tallied three runs in the third inning and Southern added one, but the Panthers remained on top, 4-2.
- The Panthers then scored nine answered runs to take the victory in game two.

The Owls are scheduled to play a doubleheader against Franklin Pierce on Saturday.
