The Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team will play two games this week against two new members of the Northeast 10 Conference. First, the Owls will head down the shore to Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. to face Mercy in conference play on Wednesday, Oct. 9 for an afternoon battle with the Mavericks. Then, on Saturday, Oct. 12, SCSU returns home after a two-game road stint to face Molloy College at 1 p.m. at Jess Dow Field.

- SCSU dropped a 2-1 decision to Saint Michael's College on Saturday, Oct. 5.
- Janelle Ward scored her first collegiate goal off a tip from Jessica Maier. With that, Ward became the sixth different player to score a goal this season, and joined Kaitlyn Bourque as freshmen to score a goal this season. Maier's assist was the sixth of her collegiate career.Â
- Chloe Knight collected the first defensive save of her collegiate career.
- Brianna Craft made 16 saves, which bumps up her season total for the year to 121.Â
Owls In The NE10
- Brianna Craft is first in the conference in saves with 121 on the season, 28 more saves than New Haven's Natalie Shaker, who has 93.
- Jana Migliaro and Julia Schaff are tied for fourth in the NE10 in defensive saves with two.
