The Southern Connecticut women's lacrosse team prepares to host Northeast 10 conference opponent Adelphi University on Tuesday, April 2, at 4 p.m. at Jess Dow Field.   
The Panthers are led by Alison Johnson who has 21 goals and a team-high 28 assists along with Kole Pollock who leads the team in goals with 32 and has registered six assists so far this year. The Owls are led by senior co-captain Samantha Cozzolino who has 35 goals and 14 assists, freshman Karlie Rowe, who has been off to a steady start in her first collegiate campaign as an Owl with 22 goals, three assists and a team-leading 75 shots along with Stephanie Seymour who has tallied 17 goals and five assists so far this year.

The Panthers lead the all-time series against the Owls, 14-0.

LAST TIME OUT
The Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team lost 17-16 in triple overtime to Franklin Pierce University in the longest game in SCSU history. 
• The Owls had several outstanding performers today as Karlie Rowe tallied a SCSU freshman record seven goals on 16 shots. 
• Samantha Cozzolino registered a season-high six goals on 11 shots, while grabbing 12 draw controls and two ground balls and Kelly Jagodzinski had a team-high three assists and one ground ball in the loss.

ROWE SETS SCSU RECORD
With Rowe's seven-goal performance against Franklin Pierce, she set a program record as the only freshman in Southern Connecticut history to score seven in a game. The most goals since Samantha Cozzolino scored seven against SNHU on April 13, 2018.

LONGEST GAME IN PROGRAM HISTORY
In the triple overtime loss against Franklin Pierce, the Owls broke a school record for longest game in SCSU history. The game broke a five-year record set on April 16, 2014 against AIC when the Owls lost 16-14 in double overtime.

CLIMBING THE RECORD BOOK
With her six goals against Franklin Pierce, Cozzolino now sits in 2nd place with 134 career goals and trails Nicole Healey '18 for 1st place all-time at SCSU with 172. With her one assist against AIC, she is tied for 2ndplace all-time in career assists with Nicole Healey '18 at 41. With her six points against Franklin Pierce, Cozzolino sits in 2nd place with 175 career points and trails Nicole Healey '18 for 1stplace all-time at SCSU with 213.


COZZOLINO, SEYMOUR STAY HOT
These two have been on a scoring tear from March 21-27 and have registered hat tricks in three-consecutive games for the Owls. With her three goals against AIC, Cozzolino registered her 22nd hat-trick of her collegiate career and seventh of the season. She leads the Owls with 29 goals and 14 assists so far this year. Over the last three games, Stephanie Seymour has tallied 15 points with 11 goals and four assists, and has surpassed her points total from the 2018 season of four goals and one assist. With her three goals, Stephanie Seymour has collected three-or-more goals in four-straight games. 

OWLS POST BACK-TO-BACK WINS
The Owls have now won back-to-back games for the first since Mar. 13 & 14, 2018 against Saint Michael's and UC-Colorado Springs. The Owls stole the victory, 13-12, over Saint Michael's in overtime. The last time the Owls won a game in overtime was on April 27, 2016 when they defeated American International College, 7-6.

SIEDLECKI'S FIRST CAREER WIN
With the 18-5 win over Post University on March 21, Kevin Siedlecki records his first win as the head coach of the Southern Connecticut Lacrosse team.

OFFENSIVE EXPLOSION
In the win over Post, four Owls registered hat-tricks: Samantha CozzolinoStephanie SeymourHailey Gordon and Karlie Rowe. The last time four Owls had three or more goals was on April 15, 2017 against Franklin Pierce when Carolynn Keal (4), Nicole Healey (4), Samantha Cozzolino (3) and Morgan Chase (3) each had hat-tricks.

GORDON'S FIRST FOUR GOAL PERFORMANCE
With her four goals in the win over Post, Hailey Gordon has recorded her fourth multiple-goal game of the season and sixth of her career. This is the first four-goal game of her collegiate career and her second hat-trick with the first coming on February 24 against Molloy earlier this year.

NEWCOMERS FILLING THE STAT SHEET
Three of the nine Owls goal scorers are in their first year playing collegiate lacrosse. Leading the pack is freshman Karlie Rowe who is second on the team in goals with 22 goals and three assists, behind her is freshman Kelly Jagodzinski has five goals and five assist and freshman Bayleigh Takacs who has recorded three goals and five assists so far this year.

GRANDE HAS A GRAND DAY VERSUS NYIT
Senior Brianna Grande scored the first goal of her collegiate career as well as registered a season-high seven draw controls.The last time she had seven draw control was on April 25, 2018 against Assumption.

YOUNGSTER MAKES AN IMPACT
Freshman Karlie Rowe scored four goals against LIU Post, this is the most from a freshman since Tessa McNabeo and Samantha Cozzolino scored four on March 17, 2016 against Post.

THE 2019 CAPTAINS
Seniors Samantha Cozzolino (Hamden, Conn.) and red-shirt junior Brianna Grande (West Hartford, Conn.) have been tabbed as co-captains for the 2019 season.
 
GUESS WHO'S BACK
The Owls return 12 players from last season's squad that posted a 4-12 overall record that included a 3-10 mark in Northeast 10 Conference play.
