The Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team will host No. 3 nationally ranked Assumption University on Saturday, Oct. 9. Prior to the start of the game, the Owls will honor its three-member senior class:

Alyssa Haskins.

All-Time Against Assumption: 11-7
The Last Time They Met:Â Assumption captured a 6-0 victory the last time these two met on Sept. 28, 2019.
Scouting the Game
- The Owls captured the first 11 meetings all-time, while the Greyhounds have taken the last seven.
- SCSU is 6-4 at home against Assumption.
- The Owls are coming off a 6-0 defeat at the hands of UNH, while the Greyhounds are coming off a 5-1 victory over Franklin Pierce.
- Deirdre Burchill will be the Greyhound to Watch. Burchill has six goals, including three game-winners, three assists along with 32 shots, 23 of which were on goal.
- Janelle Ward will be the Owl to Watch. Ward has been tremendous between the pipes for SCSU. She has six games in double digit saves, and leads the conference in total saves, and the country in saves per game.

NE10/NCAA Ranks
- Janelle Ward currently leads the NE10 with 101 saves. Her .765 save percentage ranks eighth in the conference.
- Janelle Ward is first in NCAA DII in saves per game with an average of 12.62. She is also second in total saves (101) through eight games played behind Mercyhurt's Kayla Desormeau who has 102 through nine games played.
- Karen Sicha is third in the conference in defensive saves with three this season, while Megan Habakangas is fifth with two.
