Southern Connecticut women's lacrosse opens the 2023 season at Chestnut Hill in Lafayette Hill, Pa. on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023 at 2 p.m. The game will stand as the start of the season for both programs.

2022 Recap
  • Southern was 4-12 overall and 3-10 in the Northeast 10 Conference in 2022, with conference wins coming against Saint Michael's, American International and Saint Rose.
  • The Owls also picked up a non-conference win against Post.
  • Sarah Robbins (Farmingdale, N.Y.) was a Northeast 10 Conference Third Team selection in 2022.
  • A force on the defensive side for the Owls all-season in her second season, Robbins ranked third in caused turnovers with 27, 15th in ground balls with 30, and was one of three players in the NE10 with at least 30 ground balls and 25 caused turnovers.
  • Robbins led a defense that was ranked first in the NE10 and seventh in all of Division II in caused turnovers per game at 12.50, while she was third in the NE10 and 29th nationally in caused turnovers per game at 1.80.
  • She was also 12th in the conference in ground balls per game at 2.00. 
  • Bayleigh Takacs (Sparta, N.J.) was named to the NE10 Academic All-Conference team last season.
  • Takacs and Mia Pulisciano (Cheshire, Conn.) were both named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll as well.
     
Owls Notes
  • In 2022, Takacs became the 10th player in program history to record 100 career points, and she finished the year with 36 goals and a team-leading 14 assists.
  • She enters the season ranked fourth all-time in program history in career assists (39) and 10th in career points (104). She also boasts 65 career goals.
  • Takacs led the Owls with 38 goals and 51 points last season.
  • Karlie Rowe was second behind Takacs in goals with 36, while leading the team with 14 assists for 50 points.
  • Rowe enters the season with 93 career goals, which ranks seventh all-time, and 21 assists for 114 points, with ranks sixth all-time.
  • Brianna Shaw totaled 19 goals and two assists for 21 points. Shaw was also second on the Owls' roster, behind Robbins, with 23 ground balls. She also led the team with 36 caused turnovers
  • Savannah Feinberg finished last season with 17 goals and four assists for 21 points.
  • Alexandra Ruel tallied 13 goals and five assists while Kelly Jagodzinski scored nine goals and assisted on six more for 15 points, as well as 20 ground balls.  
  • Mia Pulisciano had nine goals and three assists, and also totaled 17 caused turnovers and 13 ground balls.
     
Chestnut Hill Notes
  • In 2022, Chestnut Hill was 3-11 overall and 2-7 in the CACC.
  • Frances Vassallo led the Griffins with 24 goals and 11 assists for 35 points while Danielle Vassallo totaled 23 goals and three assists for 26 points, while leading the team with 23 caused turnovers.
  • Madyson Schwartz finished with 23 goals for the season.
